Welcome to McDonald Street Products. I appreciate you stopping by to see what we have to offer. Here's some information about who I am and what I do. Detailed information about specific products can be found by clicking the links on the left.

I am located in beautiful Lakeland, Florida - on McDonald Street of course. I would like to think I maintain my primary office in our home, a historic 1921 bungalow. It's in a wonderful neighborhood just a couple of blocks from Florida Southern College. The campus is the largest single site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings anywhere.

Our manufacturing facility is also in Lakeland but not in a historic area. We have 8,000 square feet of fabrication space. It also has the office that I spend most of my time. It's a shame I can't spend more time on my porch sipping iced tea.

This is a new venture for me - I currently work as a scenic fabricator and designer in the entertainment industry. I have worked in show business for nearly 20 years and have been involved in many productions - if you have watched television, been to concerts, visited theme parks or attended trade shows more than likely you have seen my work.

I love historic buildings. I feel they are the fabric our communities are woven with in both large cities and small towns. There is a certain comfort I feel when I am in an older building. Perhaps it is because they are from a time when buildings we built to last for generations. Perhaps it is because the materials and finishes have more personality than the sterile modern construction materials.

I recently discovered I have a love for bonsai. Several years ago I started collecting new and old japanese hand tools for woodworking. In my search for good quality japanese tools I kept coming across bonsai tools and supplies. At the same time I began to spend more time gardening at the bungalow. My neighbor pointed out my garden beds had a distinct oriental feel - almost like a japanese garden. Once I embraced the look I began to research bonsai and I was hooked.

This new venture is a blending of what I love (historic homes and bonsai) with my craft (woodworking, fabrication and design). Hopefully I will be able to help and inspire you.
