UPDATE 4/22/07

Thanks for the patience while I took care of other business. All of the pages have been updated with new photos and information. I am currently manufacturing a new run of everything and products will be ready to ship soon.

Below is a photo of the entire product line. On the left is the low boy rotator. In the center is the original bonsai workstation. On the right is the tabletop workstation. Notice they are all wet? That's a design feature as anything used while working on a bonsai should be able to be washed with a hose to clean.

Welcome to my bonsai product line. I am very excited about these products. I think they fill a need at a reasonable price point. There are many more expensive products out there that do the same thing as ours - turn a plant around in a circle. They are more complex to build so it makes sense that they would cost more. I have tried to design products that would serve their purpose, be durable enough to last a lifetime and would have a lower cost based on the simplistic designs.

For several years I have worked on my plants without a turntable. I could not see purchasing something that I could build - and build it better than what was on the market. One day the inspiration hit and I made a prototype. It worked so well I made several revisions.

Everything has been manufactured with water exposure in mind. Feel free to hose them off as needed. In fact I encourage you to clean them with a garden hose and some soapy water. Almost all of the hardware used is either stainless steel or bronze so there is no need to worry about rust. Until I can find them in stainless steel the leg levelers will be zinc coated steel. I wouldn't recommend leaving them outside all of the time (theft comes to mind) but I have kept mine outside for over a year and it's been fine. I have noticed a bit of sun fade on the black rubber coating but after all I am in Florida. A little Armor All made it look good as new.

The turntable tops are built using 2 layers of 3/4" okume plywood and are laminated using an exterior waterproof glue. The plywood is finished with two coats of marine epoxy for durability and two coats of a catalyzed urethane automotive finish for UV protection. The top surface has a spray applied non skid urethane rubber coating. The bushing or pivot point is a block of uhmw that can be reversed if it ever shows heavy wear to extend it's life. The top has a simple knob that locks the top in place and keeps it from turning when you need and non-turning table.

Both bases are built from 1.5" welded steel tubing that is powder coated a dark green. Each base has four heavy duty adjustable leg levelers to keep the unit from wobbling during use as well as plastic end caps to keep the look clean.

The table top unit has a tubing stem that the top rotates on and it finishes at 10" tall. The ground level unit has a stainless steel acme rod that allows for simple adjustment from 28" to 44". Each original bonsai workstation includes a multi purpose shelf and a metal tray with a heavy duty mesh bottom. I thought it might be handy to have the ability to keep things you need right on the turntable stand - and it is by far the most popular feature according to early testing. It's also a first for turntables - never been done before.
